11. Nonlinear Control Systems

Although systematic treatment of nonlinear control problems is currently beyond the scope of Control System Professional, it does provide the linearization tools that may allow construction of a linear model describing the behavior of the nonlinear system in the vicinity of some operating point. For reasonably smooth nonlinearities, this approach may provide a useful insight into the properties of the system, if not a suitable approximation.
