4.2.2 Opacity
The opacity of an object determines how solid an object appears; as such, opacity is the opposite of transparency. Making objects less opaque does not make any internal structure more visible (as all polygons are displayed with the same transparency) but does allow other objects to be seen behind the front object. Opacity may vary from 0.0 (invisible) to 1.0 (solid).
