Creating an Animation

You can use Do and Plot to create a graphics animation.

1. Evaluate the Do command to generate the series of graphics.

(Note: The y-axis is fixed by including the third argument, {-1, 1}, in the Plot command.)

2. Select the graphics by clicking the cell bracket that groups the graphics cells together - the middle bracket.

3. Pull down the Calculate menu and click Animate Selected Graphics to begin the animation. Alternatively, you can press the keyboard shortcut: ControlKeyLeftModifiedY RightModified (Windows) or CommandKeyLeftModifiedY RightModified (Macintosh).

4. Click the mouse anywhere to stop the animation.
