is a string that gives the assigned name of the computer on which the Wolfram System is being run, if such a name is defined.
Details
- For many classes of computers, $MachineName is the network host name.
- $MachineName is "" if no name is defined.
- $MachineName typically does not include the network domain name given by $MachineDomains.
