$ParentLink
is the WSTP LinkObject currently used for input and output by the Wolfram Language kernel in a particular session.
Details
- When the Wolfram Language kernel is started by a Wolfram System front end, $ParentLink gives the WSTP connection between the front end and the kernel.
- You can reset $ParentLink in the middle of a Wolfram System session to connect the kernel to a different front end.
