Transits of MercurySaturn's Rings Edge On

A.6 Transits of Venus (4 every 243 years; occur in daylight)

Transits occur around June 6 (or December 7, indicated by *) in the following years.

1526 1631* 1639* 1761

1769 1874* 1882* 2004

2012 2117* 2125* 2247

The cycle of transits repeats every 243 years, after 4 transits. The intervals between the transits are 105.5, 8, 121.5, and 8 years, respectively. Note that 152 Venus synodic orbits = 243 solar years + 2 days, and 5 Venus synodic orbits = 8 solar years + 0.83 days.

Transits of Venus last up to 6 hours.
