gives a version of image in which the pixels at positions have been highlighted.

highlights the specified geometric region in image.

  • HighlightImage always generates an 8-bit RGB image.
  • The region can be any of the following:
  • {{x1,y1},}a list of image positions
    regiona 2D geometric region
    {region1,region2,}a list of 2D geometric regions
    maskimagean Image object
    maskgraphicsa Graphics object, rasterized to size of image
  • For geometric regions, the coordinate system is the standard image coordinate system, as used for pixel positions .
  • For highlighting methods, foreground refers to the specified points or white pixels in region.
  • The following options can be given:

  • Available highlighting methods are:
  • Automaticautomatically select method
    "Blur"blur the background
    {"Boundary",t}show foreground boundary with thickness t (default )
    "Brightness"darken the background
    {"Compose",α}blend the region onto the image (default )
    {"CrossMarkers",r}show markers with a radius-r cross (default )
    {"DiskMarkers",r}show markers with a radius-r disk (default )
    {"Fade",α}fade the background (default )
    "Multiply"multiply intensities of the foreground by the highlight color
    "Saturation"convert the background to gray scale
    "Solid"replace the foreground by the highlight color
    fapply f to the background pixels
  • By default, the most suitable method is used.
