  • HighlightImage always generates an 8-bit RGB image.
  • The region can be any image or 2D Graphics object that is rasterized to the same size as image.
  • For highlighting methods, foreground refers to the specified points or white pixels in region.
  • Different highlighting methods can be specified using the Method option:
  • Automaticautomatically select method
    "Blur"blur the background
    {"Boundary",t}highlight foreground boundary with thickness t (default )
    "Brightness"darken the background
    {"Compose",α}blend the region onto the image (default )
    {"CrossMarkers",r}highlight markers with a radius-r cross (default )
    {"DiskMarkers",r}highlight markers with a radius-r disk (default )
    {"Fade",α}fade the background (default )
    "Multiply"multiply intensities of the foreground by the highlight color
    "Saturation"convert the background to grayscale
    "Solid"replace the foreground by the highlight color
    fapply f to the background pixels
  • By default, the most suitable method is used.
  • HighlightImage takes a option that specifies the color to use in some highlighting methods.
