2.13.6 Advanced Topic: Customizing Your Mathematica Configuration

Operations performed whenever Mathematica starts up.

You will often find it convenient to customize your copy of Mathematica by having Mathematica execute particular commands or load specific packages every time it starts up. You can do this by setting up system-wide init.m files, or by placing items in an Autoload directory.

The order of loading customization files.

All versions of Mathematica allow shared customization files to be placed in a central Configuration directory. However, special or user-specific customization files are typically placed in directories that differ from one computer system to another.
