MantissaExponent

FilledSmallSquare MantissaExponent[x] gives a list containing the mantissa and exponent of a number x.

FilledSmallSquare MantissaExponent[x, b] gives the base-b mantissa and exponent of x.

FilledSmallSquare Example: MantissaExponent[3.4 10^25] LongRightArrow.

FilledSmallSquare The mantissa always lies between and or and .

FilledSmallSquare MantissaExponent works with exact as well as approximate numeric quantities.

FilledSmallSquare Example: MantissaExponent[Exp[Pi], 2] LongRightArrow.

FilledSmallSquare See Section 3.1.3.

FilledSmallSquare See also: Log, RealDigits, IntegerExponent.
