4.1 Mac OS XにMathLM をインストールする

ライセンスサーバにMathLM をインストールする前に，Wolfram Researchに連絡して製品を登録しパスワードを入手する必要がある．登録方法については1.4.2を参照されたい．インストールの過程でパスワードの入力が求められる．

全ユーザがMathematica にアクセスできるようにするためには，中央のApplicationsフォルダのような場所にインストールするとよいだろう．このためにはアドミニストレータとしてログオンする必要があるかもしれない．

2. MathLM CDをCD-ROMドライブに挿入する．

3. ターミナルウィンドウを開き，ログオンする．

4. ディレクトリをCDのMacintoshサブディレクトリに変更する．Mac OS XのCDマウントポイントは/Volumesで，CDの名称はMathLMである．

cd /Volumes/MathLM/Macintosh

注：CDアイコンをターミナルウィンドウにドラッグすると，CDのパス名が自動的にコマンドラインにペーストされる．

5. 下記コマンドを入力し， を押す．

./MathLMInstaller

6. マシンのMathIDを表示する以下のようなプロンプトが現れる．インストールを続行するためにはパスワードを入力しなければならない（登録とパスワードの入手については1.4.2を参照のこと）．すでにパスワードを入手済みの場合は「c」とタイプして を押し，インストールを続ける．

To register and get a password you will need to supply the

MathID: 6619-76357-73584



Enter 'c' to continue or 'e' to exit the installer, [c]:

7. ライセンス証書に記載された通りにMathLM のライセンス番号を入力し， を押す．

Enter the license ID printed on your license certificate.

Your license ID should be of the form Lnnnn-nnnn, where

the n are digits.

8. MathLM のパスワードを入力し， を押す．

Enter your MathLM password:

9. インストーラが，MathLM をインストールするディレクトリを指定するよう求めてくる．デフォルトでは/usr/local/Wolfram/MathLMになっている．ここでよければ を押す．別の場所にインストールする場合は，インストール先を入力してから を押す．

CD-ROM into your MathLM directory. If you specify a

directory that already contains MathLM, the installer

will update components to the latest available version. To install

MathLM from scratch, specify a directory that does not

already exist.

注：存在しないディレクトリを選んだ場合は，インストーラがそのディレクトリを作る．指定したディレクトリにすでにMathLM が存在する場合は，ファイルをアップデートする前にインストーラがこれを知らせてくる．

10. インストーラがシンボリックなリンクを作成するディレクトリを指定するように求める．デフォルト位置は/usr/sbinである．ここでよければ を押す．このディレクトリを別の場所に作りたければ，新しい場所を入力してから を押す．

that already contains files from an older installation of

MathLM, the installer will update components to the latest

注： 存在しないディレクトリを選んだ場合は，インストーラがそのディレクトリを作る．指定したディレクトリに以前のバージョンのMathLM へのシンボリックリンクが存在する場合は，ファイルをアップデートする前にインストーラがこれを知らせてくる．

11. インストーラがCDからファイルをコピーし始める．作成された各ディレクトリがスクリーンにリストされる．インストールの過程でエラーメッセージが生成されると，そのメッセージはインストールのディレクトリに記録される．

12. インストールが完了したらMathLM を手動でスタートしなければならない．そのためには，次に下記のコマンドのどれかを実行する．

MathLM をスタートするためには，次のように入力する．

./mathlm

MathLM をスタートしメッセージをsyslogに記録するためには，次のように入力する．

./mathlm -syslog

MathLM をスタートしメッセージをファイルに記録するためには，次のように入力する．

./mathlm -logfile file

ここに示してあるのはオプションの一部に過ぎない．5.3には，MathLM のためのコマンドラインオプションに関するさらに詳しい説明がある．5.2.3にはマシンを再起動するたびにMathLM を自動的にスタートさせるマシンの設定方法が記されている．
