Mathematica Import/Export Format


Sequence of 16-bit characters.
Raw binary format.
  • Import can read any file as a sequence of characters.
  • Export writes a list of characters to a file.
  • Import["file", "Character16"] imports any file, returning a list of 16-bit characters.
  • Export["file", list, "Character16"] exports a list of 16-bit characters to file.
  • Import["file", {"Character16", elem}] or Import["file", elem ] imports the specified element from file.
  • Import["file", {"Character16", {elem1, elem2, ...}}] imports multiple elements.
