MathieuCharacteristicB

MathieuCharacteristicB[r, q]
gives the characteristic value br for odd Mathieu functions with characteristic exponent r and parameter q.
  • Mathematical function, suitable for both symbolic and numerical manipulation.
  • The characteristic value br gives the value of the parameter a in y^('')+(a-2q cos(2z))y=0 for which the solution has the form e^(irz)f(z) where f(z) is an odd function of z with period 2pi.
