MaxDetect

 MaxDetect[image] gives a binary image in which white pixels correspond to constant extended maxima in image. MaxDetectfinds extended maxima where the range of values is not greater than h.
• An extended maximum is a connected set of pixels with values greater than their surroundings.
• MaxDetect effectively chops maxima of height h or less and returns all remaining constant regional maxima.
• MaxDetect by default treats all eight pixels surrounding a given pixel as adjacent.
• The option setting CornerNeighbors->False treats only the four pixels in the coordinate directions as adjacent.
• MaxDetect works with binary, grayscale, and other images.
