MinDetect

MinDetect[image]
gives a binary image in which white pixels correspond to constant extended minima in image.

finds extended minima where the range of values is not greater than h.

An extended minimum is a connected set of pixels with values less than their surroundings.

MinDetect effectively fills minima of depth h or less and returns all remaining constant regional minima.

MinDetect by default treats all eight pixels surrounding a given pixel as adjacent.

The option setting CornerNeighbors->False treats only the four pixels in the coordinate directions as adjacent.

MinDetect takes a Padding option. The default setting is Padding, corresponding to a white background.

MinDetect is equivalent to MinDetect[FillingTransform[image, h, Padding->1]] for grayscale images.
