Control System Professional—Polynomial Control Systems expands the scope of Control System Professional with new tools for modeling, analysis, and design of multivariable control systems. Specifically, Polynomial Control Systems adds new control objects for the system matrix and left and right matrix-fraction models that complement Control System Professional's state-space, transfer-function, and zero-pole-gain objects. The application package further adds the Smith and McMillan standard forms for matrices and control objects and provides a means for exploring multivariable poles and zeros of a control system and related coprimeness, stability, functional controllability, and other properties. There are also new tools for reducing interactions between inputs and outputs in the multivariable system using the relative gain array, the Nyquist array, the characteristic locus, the Perron-Frobenius scaling, and other methods. Finally, Polynomial Control Systems contributes to the Control System Professional's library of pole assignment algorithms and provides the reduced order estimator and output feedback compensator algorithms. Polynomial Control Systems requires Control System Professional 2.0.3 or later and is seamlessly incorporated in Control System Professional Suite using a consistent set of data structures and function names. | Polynomial Control Systems requires Control System Professional 2.0.3 or later. |
Polynomial Control Systems builds upon Control System Professional. This User Guide places the new Mathematica objects, methods, and functions into relevant control theory context and provides illustrations of the use of the new tools to solve many control problems. However, the guide is not a substitute for the general and special literature listed in the References. Nor is it an introduction to Mathematica or Control System Professional. To maximize the benefit from this application package, consult The Mathematica Book by Stephen Wolfram and the Control System Professional User Guide. |
