Headers and Footers...

Headers and Footers sets options for printing a document.

• When you open this dialog box and click OK, printouts of the current document will have headers and footers added according to the specified settings.

Publicon saves your new settings with the document so it will be printed the same way in the future.

• The descriptions of header features described in more detail below apply similarly to footers.

Primary Options

Set Facing Pages

Click the appropriate radio button in the dialog box to choose from the following settings:

Left and right pages equivalent
First page facing right
First page facing left

Header on First Page?

Select True to print the first page with a header; select False to print the first page without a header. Select Inherited to print headers according to the settings in the document's style sheet.

Footer on First Page?

Select True to print the first page with a footer; select False to print the first page without a footer. Select Inherited to print footers according to the settings in the document's style sheet.

Starting Page Number

Set the number for the first page of the document.

Page headers

Include Line Below Headers?

When True is checked, a rule is printed below the headers. Check False if no line is desired. Check Inherited to use the settings stored in the document's style sheet.

Left Aligned Header

Text or variables entered here are printed at the left page margin of the specified header or footer.

Centered Header

Text or variables entered here are printed in the center of the specified header or footer.

Right Aligned Header

Text or variables entered here are printed at the right page margin of the specified header or footer.

Insert Running Header

These buttons will insert a running header based on the style selected. The contents of the chosen section style are displayed in the header when they appear in the page sequence, commonly referred to as "self-indexing runningheads" in publishing terminology.

Insert Page Number

Inserts the page number.
