• References Database enables you to import, save, and export a bibliography database file.
• References Database Load opens a dialog box for importing a database file. Click New to replace the existing database in memory with the selected database file. Click Append to append the selected database file to the database in memory.
• References Database Browse opens a dialog box for browsing the contents of the currently loaded database. The dialog box allows you to search the entries in the database by author's name, title, or keyword. Keyboard shortcuts: B(Windows); B(Macintosh); B(X).
• References Database Export opens a dialog box for exporting the database in memory to a file. Click Publicon to export the database in the Publicon (list-based) default format. Click XML to save the database in XML format.
• References Database Extract from Document creates a database from all the references included in the current document if they were originally created with the Publicon references system. You can append these entries to the database currently loaded in memory or replace it.
• References Database Web Sources opens a dialog box for connecting to websites, such as PubMed or BioMedCentral, that contain bibliographic data. You can search each site for references based on specific criteria such as keyword or author names. You can download a bibliography of the search results in the supported format for import into Publicon. You can also modify the list of sources and add your own. Supported bibliography data formats are BibTeX, EndNote, and PubMed Central XML.
