HTML for Microsoft Word
• Save As
HTML for Microsoft Word writes out the contents of a document in HTML format, that is suitable for importing into Microsoft
Word.
• On Windows, all math typesetting is converted to Windows metafile format instead of GIF.
• On Macintosh, all math typesetting is converted to EPS format with TIFF preview instead of GIF. Note that this conversion process is more time consuming than normal HTML+GIF conversion and can require a significant amount of time when there are many mathematical expressions in your document. This is primarily because each EPS file is created with all the necessary math fonts added by default. For greater speed and file space efficiency, you can set "IncludeSpecialFonts"
False in Publicon's preferences. You will have to be careful to manage your fonts properly when using this setting, as the special math fonts may need to be loaded into your printer in order for the math graphics to print properly. Also, Microsoft Word X for Mac Service Release 1 may also require you to save all the linked EPS graphics files in the document (via the Edit
Links menu) if they are not visible when opening the document.
• You can paste the document's name with the appropriate extension (.doc) into the save as dialog box. The clipboard's contents will be restored after saving the file.
