NotebookDirectory
• NotebookDirectory is a global option that determines the current working directory.
• NotebookDirectory determines the default location from which notebooks are opened or to which notebooks are saved.
• The default setting is usually NotebookDirectory 
$TopDirectory.
• The setting for NotebookDirectory changes during a session if you use a File menu command that changes the default directory, such as Open, Save, or Save As....
• To change the setting for this option, click the square symbol at the right of the option and select a directory from the dialog box that appears. You can also type in a directory name by using the FrontEnd`FileName function and pressing
