Searching for Mathematical Notation and Special Characters
Publicon's special character names can be copied and pasted into the Find dialog box for searching and replacing:
1. Select a special character in your document that you want to find in another location, such as
.
2. In the Edit menu, choose Copy As
Plain Text.

Find... and paste into the "Search for:" field ("Find:" on Macintosh), then click "Next".

, use \:03b1, which is the same as searching on \[Alpha].
Mathematical expressions composed of multiple characters can also be searched this way, by copying Publicon's underlying "linear syntax" for an expression:
1. Select a mathematical expression in your document that you want to find in another location, such as
.
2. In the Edit menu, choose Copy As
Plain Text.
3. Choose the Edit
Find... and paste into the "Search for:" field ("Find:" on Macintosh), then click "Next".
