$DisplayFunction
gives the default setting for the option DisplayFunction in graphics functions.
Details
- For the Wolfram System used with a notebook front end, the typical default setting for $DisplayFunction is Identity.
- When the Wolfram Language kernel is run on a raw terminal, $DisplayFunction typically uses ExportString and Print, or sends to an external display program using Export.
