Sections 3.1 and 3.2 in Control System Professional give a full exposition of the objects StateSpace, TransferFunction, and ZeroPoleGain, for continuous-time and discrete-time linear systems described by state-space, transfer-function, and zero-pole-gain models. This chapter introduces the objects SystemMatrix, LeftMatrixFraction, and RightMatrixFraction to provide the system matrix, in polynomial and state-space forms, and left and right matrix-fraction model forms. The chapter focuses on the new models. However, for completeness and to show the interrelationships between all these different types of model representation, examples of state-space, transfer-function, and zero-pole-gain models are also used. All control system model objects can be converted to any other model object, and all new model objects are editable in the same manner as the control objects defined in Control System Professional. Following the convention in Control System Professional, the control format that represents the control objects and matrices in TraditionalForm is used. |
