Successor[e]

gives the next element in a canonical ordering of the field elements.

Details and Options

  • To use Successor, you first need to load the Finite Fields Package using Needs["FiniteFields`"].
  • The canonical ordering used is based on the element code of the field elements.
  • The largest element has no successor.
