EnterExpressionPacket

EnterExpressionPacket[expr]

is a WSTP packet that requests the evaluation of expr.

Details

  • expr is a Wolfram Language expression, not a string.
  • expr is evaluated by a complete pass through the Wolfram System main loop.
  • The notebook front end typically evaluates BoxData cell content by sending the kernel an expression such as EnterExpressionPacket[MakeExpression[BoxData[boxes],form]].
