What's New in Wolfram System Modeler 14.0
A list of key new features in System Modeler 14.0.
Libraries
- Default to using Modelica Standard Library 4.0.0. Version 3.2.3 is still supported and included during a transition period.
- Modernized bundled examples.
- Possibility to automatically convert user libraries and models to use newer third-party library versions.
- Possibility to create System Modeler Archives that do not permanently install.
- More user choice on loading behavior when installing libraries from System Modeler Archives.
Unit Handling and Checking
- Automatic propagation of units through connections and equations.
- Improved experimental detection of invalid uses of units and display units throughout models, possible to turn on in the Translation view of Options.
- Flexible and automatic conversion of a very large selection of units in input fields and plots.
- Choose preferred unit systems to use globally (SI, Imperial, US, ...).
- Choose preferred display units in library or model.
- Define custom units in libraries and models.
- Unit support when plotting expressions of variables.
- Verification of quantity consistency in connections.
Modeling
- Class rename finds and updates all usages in the complete library, and optionally, in all loaded libraries.
- Component rename finds and updates all usages in the complete library, and optionally, in all loaded libraries.
- Improved rendering of Sphere, VerticalCylinder and HorizontalCylinder fillings in icons and diagrams.
- Improved inference of connection line styling from connector, in particular for Modelica.Clocked.
Simulation
- Snap to intersections between plot curves.
- Choose a default plot theme for all plots.
- Model plots with one end of axis frozen and the other automatically scaling with data.
- Plot axis scaling in model plots, such as Log2 and Log10.
