• Linear is a setting for the FitDegree option for SolveFree and SolvePath. Linear specifies a linear approximation of each section of the integrand.

• Linear is generally less accurate than the higher-degree fits.
• Linear works well with systems that have many force discontinuities because fewer back-steps are required to auto-adjust the time step size when a discontinuity is encountered.
