This message is generated by an attempt to set the attributes of a symbol to an invalid value.
The possible attributes for symbols are Protected, ReadProtected, Locked, Temporary, HoldFirst, HoldRest, HoldAll, Flat, Orderless, OneIdentity, Listable, Constant, Stub, NHoldFirst, NHoldRest, NHoldAll, NumericFunction, SequenceHold, and HoldAllComplete.
The attributes available in each version of the Wolfram Language are fixed and cannot be changed.
Off[message] switches off the message; On[message] switches it on. For example: Off[Attributes::attnf].
